Fairly new to Abaqus so forgive me if this is a simple one. I'm currently looking into the effect of spherical voids of different sizes/locations across a model. The model consists of multiple parts of different material properties and the voids need to span multiple parts. While I am able to create the defect in one part or the other, I'm struggling to find a way to make the same void span across two separate parts. Any help would be much appreciated.

I think there is no direct way to do that, but maybe a good workaround.
You can create a part that represents the void region. In the assembly module you have all instances and the void instance. Then you do a Merge/Cut (in this case cut) to subtract the void from another instance. Unfortunately this can be only at one instance at a time. But afterwards you can resume the suppressed void instance and do the operation on another instance.
