Is there a code related article for crane beam deflection? I've usually used L/480 or 1/2" maximum. I was wondering if this was quantified, somewhere. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Gentlemen... I'll bump it up a tad... still keeping the 1/2"

Hi dik

You’re welcome

Eurocodes have two parts dedicated to cranes.
One to quantify the loads, one for the design of the crane beams.
EN 1991-3
EN 1993-6
Have also a look at ISO/DIS 11660-6

From the top of my head, crane girders are limited to L/600 and 25 mm vertical deflection.
Lateral also L/600.

Thanks... got it fixed.

^^^ I wouldn't know, but I'd start my search on zlibrary (z-lib.org => books) ... Has many other interesting documents as well (don't type "structural" in the search box or you're gone for hours...)
