Does anyone have any figures for the instrumental error of the following SI methods:
[ul]
[li] Mechanical static cone [/li]
[li] Electrical static cone [/li]
[li] Piezocone[/li]
[li] Flat dilatometer[/li]
[li] Generical SPT [/li]
[/ul]

Please note that by instrumental error I mean the dispersion in measurements when the same measurements are taken in the same, (theoretically) identical soil. These errors are also or mainly related to transducers errors (or other factors in SPTs).
thanks in advance

This isn't exactly what you are looking for but, you might find the following small books could help with your search and in any event they present some interesting case studies:

"Predicted and Measured Behavior of Five Spread Footings on Sand", ASCE Special Publication No. 41. It presents the results of load and settlement predictions by 31 professionals using the same testing data on five footings on sand.

"Measured Performance of Shallow Foundations", ASCE Special Publication No. 15. It presents eight case studies of various footings on different types of soils.

Mccoy:

Another good reference on errors in engineering measurements is Theory and Design for Mechanical Measurements by Figliola and Beasley.
