Cost of an Emergency Response plan 1

How much would it cost/number of hours to develop an emergency response plan for a medium sized wastewater treatment plant?

One would think that it would take 80-120 hours or $12K to $15K

What brings you to that answer? I'm a consultant working with communities so I would have to interview the people in charge of the treatment plant. Would that take a lot of extra time on top of the 80-120 hours?

If you know what you are doing, you should have a general idea of the scope of work before you start. After all this is not exactly brain surgery.

If you are doing one of these for the first time, you will be more inefficient and someone else will probably beat you out to win the project.

What size community do you serve? Is it remote or are there cross connections in the network?What is the quality/type of watercourse you discharge to? What chemicals do you use?Have you got a single power supply froma sinlge supplier? do you have a back up generator? What secondary treamtent do you use? Do you have any "key accounts" ? Are there any areas that you would potentially flood?

Sorry sounds like a lot of questions, but answer those and you can get quite an accurate answer

The wwtp is regional and it serves around 60,000 residents. It is a combined sewer system. The wwtp discharges into a major river that is on the 303d list (meaning that it is polluted). It does have backup generators. Secondary treatments include combined storm water overflow treatment, sludge incineration and additional sludge treatment processes. The wwtp and much of the surrounding area is located in a flood plain. I am not sure what you mean by a "key account."

One of the sites I look after has a major airport as forming part of the catchment, and unfortunately, its also one of the lowest points on the network, so if we have a major disaster then they will get flooded and have to close. Anything such as hospitals, major company's, airports anyone that will be majorly affected or has a loud voice when it comes to complaining. Apart from that it sounds a pretty standard planning exercise.
