I have just loaded 2004 when I draw a Shaded cosmetic thread
it is there but will not show the shaded thread.
I have clicked Tools, Options, Document Properties, Annotations Display. Under Display filter, and selected Shaded cosmetic threads.
I received a file from another user with the cosmic thread showing on his computer, but it still fails to shown on mine.
Any idears would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advancs Jimp

It might be a graphics card issue, what are you running?

Have you read faq731-376 to make the best use of Eng-Tips Forums?

Thanks for your quick reply.
Iam using Radeon 7000 64M Video Card

That card is a pass with limitation so your problem could very well be with your video card. THe only thing you can try is to use a different criver or replace the card with one that passes at the SW website.

When in doubt, always check the help

Don't forget when changing the video card settings, go to the video card preferences, advanced, and change the settings to use with SolidWorks.

If that option is available. There are some cards that don't support that ability. There maybe some drivers that do support that and also support your card at the same time.

True, but always good idea to check.
We just got some new pc's, SolidWorks started crashing. I checked the video card and changed the setting to use with SW. So far has fixed the problem. The IS dept does not understand, I just do it (learned it from SW web site).

jimp178,

You could also try the 'Use software OpenGL' option in SWX.
Note: you cannot have any documents open to change this option.

Thanks for all your help Arlin's solution worked.

this mean that your card have ogl hardware acceleration issues. You must note that, using softwre ogl, the graphic performance will be low!
