I am tring to spec some turbo outlet exhaust connectors and was wondering if someone could tell me the difference between a corrugated flex joint and an expansion joint.
Exhaust flex joints for turbo engines are usually a stainless bellows (to provide the flexure) with a stainless over-braid (to keep the bellows from blowing out):
Be careful, as corrugated metal flex unit with wire mesh overbraid sometimes don't like axial compression. Attempting to make them shorter in the axial direction slackens the braiding, defeating the benefit of the overbraid.
