Hello all, I am just looking for the corrosion rate (nm/h) for the european materials like P235GH / 16Mo3. Anyidea where i can find this?

Well....... let the guessing games begin !!!!!

There is no particular corrosion rate chart attached to specific boiler tube materials .... Life is not that simple.

Boiler tube corrosion is mostly a fireside phenom and is strongly affected by the type of fuel and boiler operation..

Do you have any vague idea of the kind of boiler we are talking about here ?

Watertube of firetube ?

Is the boiler fueled by soft coal, hard coal, propane, butane or natural gas ?

Waste-to-energy (refuse fired) plants have extreme corrosion on the fireside of the tubes.

Will the boiler be cycled up and down twice a day or will operations be steady ?

David N. French is certainly the best authority in this area

Buy this book and have the decency to complete this thread ....

This is for WTE Boiler. I have corrosion rate for some ASME material but not EN material.

These materials are so similar I cannot see how the corrosion rates would be significantly different from one alloy to the next.
These alloys are engineered for hot strength and creep resistance. Coatings and water treatment are used to suppress corrosion.

I am guessing that WTE boiler means waste to energy boiler,s if I am correct then the question by MJC is not answered. The question is repeated is it a fire tube or water tube boiler? or a third type of boiler, is it a once through forced flow steam generator?
