I am trying to find any research with regards to a correlation between CBR and bearing capacity. I am aware that there is no dirct correlation that exists between the two however I think there has been a paper published in Geotechnique in 1961 by W. Black that states that CBR is approximately 1/10 Ultimate Bearing Capacity. I would appreciate it if someone could furnish me with the above-mentioned paper or any other info. relating to the topic will be most welcomed.

This question has been asked before; do a search for 'CBR' and read the threads. That may take awhile - there has been a lot of discussion on this issue.
If you find the article, I'd like a copy.
Yet I doubt that the article will change my mind on this subject - read thread261-54742 (discussion of plate load tests) to understand why I have a strong opinion on this, and why I believe any such correlation is dubious at best. As you read my comments, you can generally substitute 'CBR' for 'PLT' since the CBR piston is much smaller than a 1'x1' loading plate.
