Anyone have a rough estimate of what an expected core hardness would be of a 3/8" section 5120 or 5120H steel carburized then quenched and held at 480-500 F? Tried an online search but couldn't find good info. Thanks in adavnce.

For a rough estimate, I'd say 25-35 HRC. Maybe as high as 40.

As-quenched 5120H at the J3 position is 28-41 HRC. The 25-35 that redpicker looks reasonable after temper.
