Hello, can anyone tell me the likely impact of increasing wind velocity on the thermal performance of cooling towers.

Thanks in advance

You mean air velocity passing through cooling tower? Generally gas to liquid ratio is 1.5 to 2. If you increase the velocity beyond this, it will result in increased drift losses.

Regards,

Thanks Quark but I just meant the velocity of the ambient air around the tower rather than the velocity in the tower.

Air velocity passing through a cooling tower (not natural draught)is higher. So no substantial effect.
