Cooler tube material

Does any one know what the difference between CuNi30Fe and CuNi30FeMn?. What exactly improve.
This is the tube of sea water cooler for interstage cooling.

Based on a review of the literature I have on Cu-Ni alloys for marine applications, the alloys were developed back in the 1930's with deliberate additions of iron (up to 2%) to increase strength, and to increase resistance to flow impingement from flowing sea water.

Manganese added to the Cu-Ni alloys acts as a de-oxidant and de-sulfurizer. Also, manganese increases the working characteristics of the Cu-Ni alloy, and further increases corrosion resistance in marine applications.
 
If you are looking at Cu-Ni alloys be very careful about the ones with Fe added. If they are heat treated correctly they are quite good, and non-magnetic. If any Fe rich phases have precipitated the alloy will be slightly magnetic and have poor performance.
The susceptibility to flow related erosion and sulfide corrosion are reasons why high performance stainless steels are often used in sewater cooler applications in place of Cu-Ni alloys.
