In addition to carrying away the swarf that can ruin the finish and load the wheel, coolant carries away heat that will cause expansion (inaccuracy) of the workpiece. You don't want the part to become hot.
It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.
