Conveyor opes in walls

Please can I have views on the possible use of Air Knives on conveyor opes in walls which are of fire rated construction for the protection of property to prevent the spread of smoke to adjoining rooms.The convetor belts are continous through the openings and cannot be broken.Needless to say the size of the openings would be limited to the minimum required to allow the conveyed product to pass.
