I am a mechanical engineer, and I work in the building automation industry. I often come across many engineering disciplines. I have been, for the most part, on the software side (programming of controllers and IT) for quite a while now.
I would like to learn more about the hardware (field devices). And as an initial step I was thinking maybe I can first buy a good book? The problem is that most of the books out there have an academic approach.
I am looking for suggestions on a good book that covers control circuits design in some level of detail, from a practical point of view. Ideally the book should show me how to produce P&ID drawings, including wiring diagrams, etc?
I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks
