I am the lead design and manufacturing engineer for a start-up company. I do not have a PE. I have my BSME and EIT credentials as well as 2 years of Civil Engineering (Project Engineering) experience and about 6 months experience as a Materials Handler Design Engineer, designing industrial conveyance systems and helping with associated structural and foundations.
In order to obtain the requisite experience (Idaho state if that helps), can I have my work 'supervised' by a PE contractor? I mean for instance certain aspects of my design could be required to be stamped (or sometimes not). Opinions backed by some logic would be greatly appreciated. Also, if there is another way for me to get the required experience while leading an Agricultural Equipment Design and Manufacturing firm full-time I would appreciate guidance.
Also places I could go for the right answers if you don't happen to have them would be appreciated. Thanks for all answers regardless.
