A helpful Eng-Tips Member, who has chosen to remain anonymous, has contributed several document that may be of use. The five that I have uploaded to date are:

1. Concrete Masonry Handbook (1951), by the Portland Cement Association

2. Nelson Stud Design Manual (1977)

3. Steel for Elevated Temperature Service (1974), by US Steel

4. Avoid Bridge Crane Runway Problems (1976), a magazine article

5. Typical Truck & Front End Loader Dimensions (c. 1980), data sheets showing the size and turning dimensions for an assortment of (mostly off-road) vehicles.

All are located on this page of my website:

SRE: Thanks.

From an admirer that shall remain anonymous that also knew (but forgot) how to use a slide rule....many thanks!

Thanks to Anon. The one on crane runway problems should be required reading.

You rock & rule. Had a quick glance, good info.

SRE:

In looking at Fig. 1 in the Crane Runway article, are the Floating and Fixed rail details labled "bass ackwards"?
