concrete coring at ground floor columns of a 6 storey RC MRF 60years old building

Is it common to get a concrete coring sample @ ground floor columns ? I am just curious since i couldnt look a reference for this one. Though 10 years ago someone also did on almost all of the ground floor columns. there is an evidence of concrete patch on the holes. the building owner has also confirmed that the structural did coring sample on almost all of the ground floor columns 10 years ago
