We're looking at hanging a monorail from from the underside of a concrete slab. I just realized after all my years as a professional engineer, I've not dealt with anything other than beams. Can anyone suggest any books to help determine moments created by point loads on slabs?

What do you know about the initial design of the slab? Usually the engineer's drawings that were issued for construction indicate the dead and live loads that were considered to be active on the structure during its life. Can you evaluate the actual loads that exist and just as importantly the potential loads that could be placed on top of the slab at a later date? If so than you can back out and calculate a reserve point load capacity. In regards to books you can do a search on the internet and find subjects relating to plate theory as well as strip beams evaluation of the slab - one and two way action. I would think that your textbooks have similar design examples.
