We are a small engineering firm and struggle with backup file storage. Cad files (both ours and what is sent to us by architects) take up a bunch of disk space. Scanning project documents is also nice, but agin there needs to be a place to put them. It's convenient to have ready access to recent files, but sooner than later we run out of room and need to do some sort of archive. What are other guys doing with regards to backup?

How much data are you talking about? Hard drives are so cheap ($90 for 500GB) there's really no reason why a small business can't have everything on disk.

We've got an external SATA drive and software that compresses & backs up all of our data. I take the drive home every night in case the building burns down, gets robbed, etc.
