hi:
i use pro-e for 4 years and i am completely convinced that pro-e the most powerful cad software , but may be i am wrong ,,, so i need a fair comparison between those software , this competition dose not depend on how software easy to use,, but just about the capability.

In my experience it all depends on what you are trying to do with it.

Take a vehicle for example, if you want to do serious off road driving a 4x4 off roader would suit your needs best, if you want to go very fast around a race track, you would choose a sports car. They might both be as powerful as each other, but suit very different needs. CAD software is much the same.

I agree with ajack1. IMO, the tops are SolidWorks, Pro-E, Catia and UG (Not listed in any order), depending what they are used for.
I think SolidWorks will soon be the top in all fields.

Software architectural wise, CATIA V5 is problably the most powerful right now. That's because it's the newest of the 4 packages you listed.

Each package has it's strong applications and it's weaknesses, so "it all depends..."
