Anyone have any method for attaching a steel collector running parallel to a 1.5B metal roof deck span?

The collector is located at an interior portion of the roof.

My problem seems to be ensuring that the deck valley falls over the steel so that it can be connected.

Thanks!

Just need to either:
1. Make the collector wide enough to deal with any variation of the typical 6" flute frequency, or
2. Require the deck manufacturer/supplier to lay out the deck so that the flutes do line up with that collector surface.

Option 1 is less problematic in my view.

Run it on a slight diagonal (a nightmare for the welder), or make it wider than the rib width, which is about 3-1/2". Alternatively, if the collector is connected to the top flange/chord of beams/joists, and the deck is also connected sufficiently to them, you could carry the force that way.

Cut a specific detail through the collector showing, and specifically noting, the deck layout and welding. Cloud the detail.

Leave the details to the deck supplier, and make sure that the inspector and contractor are tuned in to your requirement at the pre-construction conference.

I prefer to make it wide enough that there isn't a problem.
