Has any one can provide me the supporting pages for Coefficient of fricrion between soil and footings f = tan(2/3 phi)from josef bowel book foundation analysis and design 19967 pages 617-618.

I don't have Bowles' book at home. However, the following coeff. of friction values are from IBC 2006:
Crystalline bedrock - 0.70
Sedimentary and foliated rock - 0.35
Sandy gravel and/or gravel - 0.35
Sand, silty sand, clayey sand, silty gravel, and clayey gravel - 0.25
Clay, sandy clay, silty clay, clayey silt, silt and sandy silt - 130 psf but not grater than 1/2 the dead load
