I'm looking for either a poly (one or two part) or alkyd coating for application on wooden boats (teak, bamboo, oak, & koa)some with a fiberglass coating. It has to have very strong UV protection and must remain clear long after application. Any help would be appreciated.

Most homemade wooden boats and canoes would be coated with clear expoxy resins such at that obtainable from a source like WEST Systems. These types of epoxy resins are specifically designed to be very transparent. Since the resins are not UV protected, they are top coated with a good quality marine grade spar varnish. Try looking through WOODEN BOAT magazine for sources.

Wicsteve, thanks for the info and I'll see if there's a website that I can check out.
