In accordance to chapter 7 Of NFPA 14,the pressure limitations for class II standpipe (1 1/2 in. outlet) are between 4.5~6.9 bar and fire pump sizing shall be done to achieve minimum residual pressure on the most remote standpipe. The minimum residual pressure for class I system is 6.9 bar also.
so if we have class III standpipe, the design shall be done to achieve 6.9 bar residual pressure at top most remote outlet and due to not to exceed from maximum allowable pressure (6.9 bar), closer outlets needs pressure regulating valve.
Is this true? and has NFPA specified the maximum pressure for class 1 standpipe?
