Hello!

Right now we are working with a tower that has internal cladding 316l and monel (0,118"). Per Client requirements we need to weld the internals supports directly to the base metal (SA-516-70 1" thk), so we need to strip back the clad in specific areas to weld the carbon steels supports. Since we have already worked with clad materials in the past, we don't have any problem stripping the clad on the edges of the plates for the longitudinal and circunferential welds or the weld procedure for clad secctions. However this is the first time that we need to remove clad in a shell course already rolled. So I came to you with my first thread to know if there is any machine, technique or recomendantion to remove the cladding on conformed rings or shell course.

Regards,

JH

Try wrinding to remove clad in a mock-up, then 100% MT in the area.
