I wonder if what difference between chromium carbide applying for overlay of slurry piping and that of forming in stainless steel is or these two mean the same one.

I would add that there is Chromium Carbide that is deliberately made for hard facing, etc. You can also find some Chromium Carbide in some grades of Tungsten Carbide parts. These are grains cemented together with Nickel or Cobalt. You can also create Chromium Carbides by improperly heating certain stainless steels while trying to braze them. In this case they would be particles in the steel. This can seriously interfere with brazing.
It is the same substance but desirable in one place and to be avoided in the other.
