When it is recommended to use Chrome Oxide faces as an standard option?
Which are the main advantages and disadvantages in front to other materials (SiC, Aluminum Oxide,Graphite, ...)? Chemical resistance, friction coeficient,....

Always against Carbon face, I guess, acting as a hard face?

Chrome Oxide is ceramic. Although ceramic is still being used today, it has been superseded by Tungsten and Silicon Carbides. As you have not told us your application I would recommend the use of silicon vs carbon as a base material selection. Ceramic has poor thermal shock characteristics unlike silicon which has excellent thermal shock properties.
If you tell us your duty conditions we can give you more advice but as a rule I would not use chrome oxide if silicon is available to you!

Chrome oxide coating is typically only used on very large seal faces when Silicon or Tungsten is just too expensive.

Frequently used in the pulp and paper industry on large paper machines.
