Our ATM. tanks contractor is going to perform hydrotest with 1000 ppm chloride content water.Material is carbon steel.
Let me know your idea that this quantity(1000 ppm) is acceptable?
That is a fairly high chloride content. In perspective, drinking water is to be below 4ppm. I have seen Lime storage tanks around 250, typically lined. If they have to do it, I may permit it, if they agreed to rinse the internals with clean water prior to putting the tank into service.
