Chilled Water / Hydronic Training 4

As a mechanical engineer, I design/specify HVAC for buildings such as K-12 schools, churches, etc. and have several years experience with split DX HVAC, but little experience with the chilled water/hydronic systems. Over the years, I've developed working friendship with other engineers for some of the major manufacturers (Trane, Carrier, McQuay, …) and with one major HVAC contractor. They have helped me with minor chilled water/hydronic changes to existing systems, such as necessary for renovations. Their valued help plus self-study has given me a basic knowledge base.

My employer has said that he will pay for off-site training on the design of chilled water/ hydronic systems (…I believe he has in mind no more than a week long course, although he might allow 1 week a year). Does anyone know of a good resource for such training? … any other ideas for self-study?

Ive heard good thing about the little red school house in Chicago by B&G. Been trying to get out there and check it out.

2008 ASHRAE Handbook - HVAC Systems and Equipment, Chapter 3, is a good place to start concerning central plant/chller plant design.
