I have to install a chilling unit for cooling down a natural gas flowrate which can vary between 1,25 MSCM/day and 2,5 MSCM/day.
The choice can be: two complete chilling units with a 1,25 MSCM/day design; but, in order to save capex, could I use a single condenser, a single evaporator, and two compressors running single or in parallel, according to the refrigeration required by the gas flowrate?
the doubt is: would it be a problem if the refrigerant flowrate passing throught the evaporator and condenser cames from both the compressors or only from one, and therefore this flowrate is in a case double than in the other case?
would you envisage any other drawbacks in such a configuration?
