cheminfromatics belongs to chemical engineering !?

I am in final year of my graduation in chem engg . And planning to present a paper in the chminformatics.But accordinng to some of my friends cheminformatics doesn't belongs to cheical enginneering decipline.So I have decided to confirm it from the experienced engineers out there . Does it belongs to chemical enngineering?

I think chminformatics is rather a chemists job than the chemical engineers.U deal more with chemistry than application . Few companies are hiring chemical engineers for cheminfo job just because chem engineering is the only engineering branch that deals more with chemistry.Its my opinion that chminformatics does not belongs to proper chemical enginering . Other expierienced members may correct me if I am wrong.
