Is chemical soil injection a legitimate method of stabilizing soil around a home's foundation? Does it work?

I've used it before on a very large chapel (more like a cathedral) in San Antonio, TX some years ago (around 1985 perhaps). Injected the "cranberry juice" on a 2 ft. grid x 10 feet deep across the whole building footprint in the basement.

Not had any call-backs since but haven't been back to see its performance.

used it to stabilize soil between two large (90") sanitary sewers so a new pipe could be jacked/tunneled between them. Was successful. Not sure if they used cranberry juice or some other type of fruit.

Have used it on a couple of projects. Worked OK.
