Chemical grafting

My company was recently contacted by Advanced Polymer Solutions. A company claiming to be able to chemically graft monomers to a substrate, permanently changing the characteristics of the substrate. They gave me the the job of tracking down information on the company and the process. Based on my research it looks like this is a new process and limited to very few companies. I was wondering if anyone has ever worked with chemical grafting? Did the grafting work for you? What company did you work with?
I am working with APS to answer our technical questions but it is nice to get other peoples reviews and so far I cant find any online. Any help is appreciated.
