Can anybody compare chemcad, aspen, proII simulation softwares ? Is there anyone who will recommend any of these (or other simulation softwares) especially in cryogenic designs (air seperation plant designs).

Have you tried inviting the sales reps in for a presentation of each package?

I preferre HYSYS (for mostly upstream oil&gas) mostly because this is what i used in university. I dont know the performance in cryogenic design.

Best regards

Morten

HYSYS works fine for cyrogenic air seperation, we use it all the time. PROII works well also it is just not as common in industry

Thanks MatthewD for the valuable sharing.

Hysys works very good in gas system. Its simulator was created for gas simulations after was expanded to other.

PRO/II have a good perfomance in mass transfer simulation is good for crude (petroleum simulations)but is not so good for criogenic system. Here in Venezuela we use PRO/II in de oil company.

Aspen is a goos simulators for chemical reactors. I'm now strarting a work in aspen (first time)

Chemcad is good for gas and I think that for cryogenic work good.

I prefer PRO/II but these depend of your work.

Sorry for my english is not so good (I speak spanish)
Leidy!!!
