Hi, I am new to MSP. I need help in creating Creating Different Calendar format for differnent tasks.

For my project, I have many different tasks going on at the same time for which working hours and working days are different. For eg :

1.Engineering work-
Days:Monday to Friday-
Date: Start 5th March 08- Finish: 30th September-09
Time: 8 to 5:30-1 hr lunch break between 12 to 1.

2. Offshore work
Days:Monday to Sunday (all 7 days)
Date: Start: 1st August 09- Finish: 15th September-09
Time: Throughout 24 hrs

How can I set up the calendar so that it calculates total number of days for task 1 and 2 ?

The problem which I am facing is that when I change calendar format for 1 task, it changes for the all the tasks in the project.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Keep in mind that a project is schedule based on the project calendar until a resource is assigned then the resource calendar will take over for scheduling. The only time this doesn't occur is if there is a task calendar which overrides everything.

You should create an offshore calendar and an on-shore calendar. Assign the off shore to off shore resources and on-shore to on-shore resources. The tasks should schedule correctly once the assignements are established.

good luck
