I AM A MECHANICAL ENGINEER AT AN ORTHODONTIC SUPPLY COMPANY. I NEED AN ADHESIVE THAT WILL BOND CERAMIC(SAPPHIRE BRACKETS FOR BRACES) TO WOOD, ACRYLIC, OR ANOTHER MATERIAL. WE WILL BE DOING TORQUE TESTING ON THE CERAMIC BRACKETS ONCE THEY ARE BONDED. WHAT IS A GOOD ADHESIVE THAT HAS A HIGH SHEAR STRENGTH OR TORQUE STRENGTH GOR THESE MATERIALS?

get yourself a 3m adhesive catolog or check out masterbond.com

If you've got 12 hours for the cure cycle and can deal with the expansion/ foam, I like Gorilla Glue too.

I read the specification as a one shot deal for some testing. We did a project something like this and used Gorilla glue. It does have the drawbacks you mentioned however we set up the fixtures, clamped them and let them sit overnight.

We liked Gorilla glue well enough and it is available all over.

It takes us a week or so to get the 3M guy in here and then he has never been any real help. He has a lot of products but he always wants to contact the lab for help with specification and then it take a week or longer for samples.

In deal like this we go for easy, cheap and good enough which means a visit to Home Depot.

However I would be very hesitant to use gorilla glue for any ongoing project of any size for the reasons you mentioned. A dozen parts overnight with weight on them is o.k. 1,000 parts overnight, every night is an entirely different matter.
