Does anyone have following macro's for Catia V5R20.

1.Bounding box for product.

2.Packing instances in product tree [if 10 instances are called just want to show a single instance with 10 as number]

3.Measure - want a direction option. when measuring will be able to use any edge as reference direction to get the dimension quickly. [Example - Inclined body with top surface is a Radius.]

Thanks in advance

Hi,

1. Search in forum for CATIA_Portable_Script_Center , there is a macro for what you want...or you can use directly CATIA command Measure Inertia.
2. Maybe in another software, not in CATIA, instances can have different numbers, skipping someones (for example 1, 5, 8, 9, 10) - depending on how user create/delete them .....and they are always in the spec tree...
3. I believe there are different options to measure something in CATIA, including directly length of an edge. If I remember correctly, there is also a macro here in forum if CATIA command is not doing what you want.

Fernando, Thanks for quick reply.

1.Bounding box I need something similar to what is available in Core & cavity module [it works only in Part level] - A transparent Box covering entire assembly. [This is mainly for presentation purpose].

2.Looks like pack not possible in Catia, fine I can adjust :) [coming from UG NX]

3.Measurement again a option from UG NX where we can set the direction of measurement very easily.

I will search as you mentioned.

Select main Product
Open Measure Inertia
Click: Customize... Select only Principal Axes, then press OK. Check "keep measure". As results You will get Bounding Box

lukaszsz, I want this box for a large engine assembly.

Inertia option is somewhat ok,still it shows 3 long [x,,z] in center, this wont help me much in sending the picture to higher ups :).

That's why I mentioned Core & cavity bounding box - there I can simply put length dimensions [LBH] and send the picture.

Currently I am creating sketch covering the extreme ends of Engine, then create pad to make it 3D and then apply Length dimension.

any way thanks for the suggestion.

One more - regarding sectioning.

How to hide the section plane in Dynamic sectioning [Part level] ? again this is another thing needed for presentation purpose.
