Does anyone have any idea on why ASME Y14.8 casting standard includes no example of drafted feature controlled with geometrical tolerances?
Regular feature of size located with position control and the size to be allowed DFT"+"plus or DFT"-"minus?

aniiben,

Have you looked at the sample drawings in Appendix B?

Thank you pmarc. Yes, I did.
Sample drawing B shows datum C with position indeed, but since it IS a datum I am thinking have different set of requirements relative/versus the other hole (section A-A hole defined with draft angle of 2 degrees basic and profile). Am I correct?

I am looking for a stand-alone hole or pin positioned to some datums and having draft angles specified.

In the same token, how would you read the specification for datum feature C? What is the UAME for a conical feature in ASME?
If the shown draft is making the size tolerance smaller than the specification then where the maximum incribed cylinder stops expanding? And in theory, what is the true geometric counterpart of this feature/ conical as made cylinder?
