I have designed a casted tank that will bolt directly to a compressor. This tank will be used to separate the air and oil from the compressor. This tank will be about 14-1/2 inches in diameter and 29 inches long. The maximum pressure and temperature for is application is 250 psig and 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Does this casted tank need to meet and special code/certification, similar to how weld tanks have to meet an ASME code??

I have heard that if this tank is bolted directly to the compressor, the tank does not need any kind of certification. We want to start production of this tank, but do not want to get into trouble down the road with not meeting and kind of certification, or code, for this tank.
