I am currently trying to create some pump casings for pump units to NACE MR0175 specifications. I have the 2001 version but i think more materials have been added recently and i was wondering if anybody could advise me on the following:

Production method: Casting
Maximum working pressure: 100 bar
Maximum working temperature: 108C
Fluid type: Crude Oil

I was going to use a form of Duplex something like Zeron 100 but cast duplex seem to have restrictions on pressure use with H2S. So the next material i can think of is Titanium or a nickel based alloy. Of course price is an issue. I currently use fabricated 316SS (Very expensive process) and want to create a lighter better performing unit by casting instead. Can anybody help?

MR0175/ISO15156 was reissued as a joint document in 2003. You can buy it here:

Many of the hardness restrictions were removed in the move to this edition, so you may find life getting a bit easier. I don't have a copy in front of me right now to check the requirements for duplex.
