Building is very early 1930s and the framing plans list the steel members such as 10CB23, 14CB30, 21CB92, etc. I have determined that the CB stands for Carnegie Brothers, and I assume that the first numbers are depth and the last numbers are weight per foot, but beyond that I cannot find section properties for these members. I have a copy of AISC Design Guide 15 for historical members, but the only CB members it shows have the nomenclature such as CB83 and the 83 does not appear to be depth or weight.
Is there a correlation between what my drawings show and what Design Guide 15 lists for Carnegie Brothers sections, or is there another reference that would help me find some section properties?
