when I machine a metal with that has Open D shells my diamond cutting tool has carbon leaching happen is there a way electricity can be used to reduce the rate of carbon leaching.

I've been out of school for too long to remember which elements have unfilled D shells. I've always assumed that dimond tools cannot be used with materials which have a high affinity for carbon. Iron is most usually mentioned.

I have never heard of an electrical way to improve the diamond loss. It has been shown that cooling the diamond can slow the wear with other materials. Liquid Nitrogen has been used.

Is it possible for you to try CBN tools?
