hy enyone, can a dc. (400mf.400 volt dc.electrolyte )capasitors be used for a motor start?

Another term for AC-electrolytic capacitor is ‘nonpolarized.’ A DC cap will likely detonate when AC is applied.
 
Never heard of a "DC capacitor". Could you enlighten me busbar? Or is this simply an explanation of what it is being used for in the circuit moreso than its construction? Or is this the term some use for polarized capacitors?
