Can someone explain the differences between NC and CNC tube bending equipment?

CNC uses a computer controller--(Computer numerical control)----NC (numerical control), uses the old style punch tape I believe

There is a tremendous price difference between NC and CNC tube bending machines and I keep hearing that the capabilities of a CNC machine is much greater than NC machines. There needs to be more of a difference than just the tape reader these days. By the way, I thought the difference was just like you said, tape reader and computer programmed.

Does anyone know of a good reference book on tube bending?
