Does anyone have experience designing cantilevered column systems? I am designing a two story building with cantilevered columns providing lateral resistance in one direction and moment frames in the other direction. It is a seismic zone (SDC "D").
What are the detailing requirements for these columns? Are there any specific detailing requirements at the beam-column joint?
Any references, design examples will be helpful.
