Hi

I've been trying for some time to develop a FE model using Mathcad that will use a variable stiffness matrix. I have written a basic FE calculation that provides me with values that correlate well with the classical approach; however, ideally I want to be able to update the beam bending stiffness depending on the calculated curvatures ie the beam gets stiffer as a certain beam curvature is achieved. Non linear I guess.
If anyone has any ideas, or has came across anything like this before, your input would be much appreciated. Thanks
 
I wouldn't recommend using Mathcad for FEM, even though I'm a die-hard user. The overhead of the program is probably too high for something like that, particularly if it's a large model. A small one might work out OK.
