I am trying to do a "Save-As" on a part.
No other parts are currently open.

I get the error:
The following parts failed to save causing the overall save operation to fail.
While saving \pathname\newname.prt
\pathname\newname.part - File not found

So therefore I cannot save the part, even with a new name.
We do not have TeamCenter.
This makes no sense to me.

Try changing the path to another folder. If your regular archive is on a network drive, try saving the file to a local volume on your own workstation.

Darn . . . that didn't work.
I may just give-up, and redo it.

Path name have a space in one of the folder names?
File name have a space or OS illegal character in the name?
Single part, not an assembly? Assembly could reference something else.

Thanks, I tried all that stuff, but no luck.
What I did was cut all the stuff (features) in the model tree and paste it into a new (clean) file, and saved it from there.
It looks like I didn't lose anything.
Whew !
