Cannot pick points in a symbol

Hi,

I'm having problems picking points (ie: mid, center, end, etc) on a symbol. Right now the only point that is picking is the insertion point. Is there a setting of some sort that would allow me to pick others on the symbol (as others can pick mid, end, etc on a symbol)?

In order to pick points on a symbol, the symbol must be smashed.

The command alias to do this in my software (I-Deas Master 6A) is IS, for Instance Smash. If you want the software to do this automatically every time you insert a symbol, pick the "smash instance" toggle to turn it on.
