Hi everyone, I would like to use AM modeler in ABAQUS to simulate the process of 3D printing concrete.

I'm building a 10-story model.

When simulating low floors, like the first six floors, it works.

But when I simulate higher floors, I get an error "Time increment required is less than the minimum specified".

So I'm trying to turn down the time increment.

My original minimum increment was 1E-10, then I changed it to 1E-20.

Although it's working, it doesn't seem like we'll see the day when it's finished with the simulation.

I tried to wait for it all night, but when I woke up, it was aborted.

It even crashed the program when I tried to open the monitor.

So I don't think it's realistic to make the time increments that small.

I only create one step and set the time period to 200, it takes 20 seconds to print one layer.

My question is, is it feasible to create such a long time period?

If this is not feasible, how can I simulate such a long printing process?

Thank you for your answers, my English is not very good please forgive me!

The problem is that this analysis doesn’t converge for some reason. You should check when it stops converging and what the results (temperature, stress if it’s mechanical) are at that point. You may have to change the boundary conditions or interactions.
