My partner and i inhearited a old network at our company when the IT Manager retired. We have two old (and dying)12port 10/100 hubs and one 12port 10/100 switch at the heart of our network. Into which a router and two servers feed. The "heart" feeds into local hubs at the general location of each group of work sites (3 total). We want to replace the hubs with one 10/100mps 24port dual speed switch to help eliminate some chatter. We are both new to networking (he has his MCSE, i'm still studying for mine). Does this make sense? Is there a down side to replacing hubs with swiches? Any information you could provide will be very appreciated.
Thanks

You should be OK with replacing the hubs with switches. As you know, switches are simply intelligent hubs - instead of repeating every burst of dat out to every port, a switch will send it only on the port that the computer that the data is meant is actually on.

Thanks, that was our thinking. It's really nice to be able to get support when you need it.
Thanks Again,
